Syniverse and GPSTracks To Demonstrate GlobalPetFinder at CTIA Wireless 2005; Syniverse Launches New Telemetry Application

NEW ORLEANS, Mar 14, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- News Summary: Powered by Syniverse's new Mobile Device Control Service, GPSTracks GlobalPetFinder provides pet owners with the ability to remotely monitor their pet's location. Demonstrations to take place at Syniverse's booth #3844 and the Wireless Home at CTIA Wireless 2005.

Syniverse Technologies (NYSE:SVR), a leading provider of mission-critical technology services to wireless telecommunication companies worldwide, and GPSTracks today will demonstrate Syniverse's new telemetry enabling application, Mobile Device Control Service, with GlobalPetFinder at CTIA Wireless 2005, March 14-16, 2005.

GlobalPet Finder, powered by Syniverse's newly developed Mobile Device Control Service, provides pet owners with the ability to remotely monitor their pet's location. GlobalPetFinder utilizes Mobile Device Control Service to send an SMS identifying the pet's location directly to a GSM mobile device such as a phone, pager or PDA. The GlobalPetFinder device allows the pet's owner to set safe boundaries within which the pet can roam and notifies the owner if the pet wanders outside of the boundary. The GlobalPetFinder device attaches to any collar and operates on three rechargeable AAA batteries.

Syniverse's Mobile Device Control Service provides the required network connectivity to mobile operators, manages SIM card administration for the GlobalPetFinder device, ensures mobile device registration and authentication, generates SMS messages, delivers those SMS messages through mobile operators, provides reporting for retail billing and provides the back-end infrastructure support that Syniverse is known for. Syniverse also provided the registration, implementation and provisioning of the SMS short code "FOUND" for use with the GlobalPetFinder device.

"Telemetry is fast becoming an attractive consumer application as well as an important tool in remotely monitoring assets and communicating data for businesses," said Linda Hermansen, vice president - business development, Syniverse. "The developers of GlobalPetFinder needed a robust offering that provides the network connectivity to mobile operators throughout the country, SMS message delivery and mobile device transaction processing to bring their product to market quickly and cost-effectively. Due to the scope and scale of our services and relationships with mobile operators, we are able to simplify all of these elements, offering a complete service framework so GPSTracks could focus on the other aspects of GlobalPetFinder product development. We see our Mobile Device Control Service enabling many new and non-conventional uses of the conventional mobile network."

"Syniverse's expertise in messaging, its proven track record in the industry and its support infrastructure enabled us to create a customized product for pet owners," said Jennifer Durst, CEO, GPSTracks. "We are leveraging Syniverse's network connectivity and relationships with nearly all major North American mobile operators to offer this product, which is expected to be commercially available by the end of the second quarter."
